Gemini watermark size and position: what we measured on real images
Where the Gemini sparkle sits, how big it is, and why it isn’t always in the same place — measured on eight real Gemini images.

The Gemini watermark is a white, four-pointed sparkle blended into the bottom-right corner. It looks the same on every image, but its size and its distance from the corner are not fixed. Here's what we found when we measured real Gemini downloads with our removal engine.
What we measured
Each row is a real Gemini image. "Mark" is the width and height of the watermark in pixels; "distance" is the gap between the mark and the right and bottom edges.
Image size | Shape | Mark | Distance from corner |
|---|---|---|---|
1152 × 928 | 5:4 | 48 px | 32 px |
1024 × 1024 | 1:1 | 48 px | 96 px |
896 × 1200 | 3:4 | 48 px | 96 px |
1376 × 768 | 16:9 | 48 px | 96 px |
1584 × 672 | 21:9 | 48 px | 96 px |
720 × 1457 | about 1:2 | 48 px | 96 px |
1024 × 768 | 4:3 | 42 px | 82 px |
2708 × 1536 | about 16:9 | 96 px | 64 px |
What the numbers show
Two base sizes. In our sample, most images carry a 48 px mark and the largest image a 96 px one.
The distance varies. We saw 32, 64, 82 and 96 px from the corner. The engine's own notes also document 2816 × 1536 images with a 96 px mark placed 192 px from the corner.
Scaled marks exist. The 1024 × 768 image had a 42 px mark — the same sparkle, scaled down.
It changes over time. New Gemini models and output sizes have moved the mark before, so a tool that assumes one fixed position will miss some images.
How the tool handles it
Instead of assuming one position, the tool tries the sizes and corner offsets Gemini is known to use, scores how well each candidate matches the sparkle's shape, and only removes the mark when a candidate is confirmed. That's why it can clean images from different Gemini models and output sizes without you choosing anything.
What moves the watermark
Edits made after download change where the mark sits relative to the corner. In our tests, resizing an image to anywhere from 75% to 150% still worked, but shrinking it to half size or adding borders around it — as a screenshot does — meant the mark was no longer found. More on that here.
Try it on your own image
Drop your Gemini image into the watermark remover. It shows the size of the cleaned image, and the result is a lossless PNG.
Frequently asked questions
- How big is the Gemini watermark?
- On the real Gemini images we measured it was 48 × 48 px on most images and 96 × 96 px on the largest one, with occasional scaled versions such as 42 px.
- Is the Gemini watermark always in the same place?
- No. It is always near the bottom-right corner, but we measured distances of 32, 64, 82 and 96 px from the edges depending on the image.
